As a Nurse Practitioner, I enjoy pursuits that complement my nurturing side. Outside of work, you'll find me creating meals or dining at a restaurant with friends. I see food as a catalyst for connection. I love gardening, growing fruits, vegetables, and my rose garden. My dedication to the well-being of others extends to foster children. Every child deserves a nurturing environment in which to thrive. Despite my serious and dedicated side, I like to infuse humor into stressful situations. Adding a dash of sarcasm to the banter. I believe laughter is the best medicine—even in the midst of life's challenges. Now, let’s get our Shimmy on! I am excited to participate in this year's event! HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN PART OF THE SHIMMY MOB COMMUNITY AND WHAT MOTIVATED YOU TO JOIN?
I have always been intrigued by belly dancing, but never pursued it. About two years ago that changed and I discovered the art of belly dancing, a practice that has become a source of healing, empowerment, and self-discovery. During a time of great emotional turmoil, I found solace in the rhythm of the music and the fluidity of movement. Belly dancing has helped me navigate through grief and awakened a newfound sense of confidence, strength, and grace. Shimmy Mob's mission aligns with my commitment to raising awareness of abuse, be it emotional or physical. True character is demonstrated through consistent behavior. It's about choosing the path that aligns with one's values and honoring those commitments even when it's tempting to take an easier route or to abandon ship when things get tough. |
"My favourite thing about being part of Shimmy Mob is supporting and building up other women. Raising awareness of emotional abuse. Raising money for organizations that support women and children. "
